The Wilson Area Railroad Modelers, Inc. (W.A.R.M.) is a membership of people interested in modeling a freelance layout with various styles, techniques and time periods.  In our world, you'll likely see steam locomotives and modern diesels working side by side.  Many of our members run locomotives with sound so you will hear the sounds of period motive power. In addition to three diesel shops we also created a scene for servicing the steam locomotives complete with roundhouse, backshop and turntable.

As you walk around following the trains, you'll see several scenes depicting mountainous terrain with towering trestles, towns, industries, rail yards and passenger stations.  The layout features two separate railroads for running trains using an interchange yard.

Our main line operates over 65 modules in a single and double track main line configuration that services about half of the industries available.  Two main yards are operated point-to-point in a North-South direction while our branch line is operated in an East-West direction with an interchange yard.  During our open house we may run trains in a loop or have an Operating Session.  Either way you can expect trains to run in any direction at any time!

Our branch line traverses the entire layout in a point-to-point configuration and serves the other half of the available industries on the layout.  It features a high line running down a grade into and through a town just like what you might see in rural America.  From here it runs out of town turning into an industrial line servicing an industrial park, steel mill, brewery, tank farm and a coal yard for a power plant with several smaller customers in between.  With all this going on, you won't find trains sitting idle for long.  Our new (in progress) train control signal system helps to keep 'em rolling.

We are open to the public every Saturday (except holidays) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Admission: $1 per adult.  Children's admission is free and must be accompanied by an adult.
